Angels take Petama Enterprise/ Motor Trend softball titles
WOLF Warriors defeated Regal by 30 runs on Sunday last to take the Petama Enterprise and Motor Trend softball tournament’s open finals when the tournament was contested at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC).

Batting first, wolf posted 204-4 from their allotted 20 overs thanks to Safraz Karim (82) and Amit Rai (39), while bowling for Regal, Richard Latiff, P. Motielall, D. Perreira and S. Budhu who each took a wicket.
In response, Regal fell at 174 All Out in 19.5 overs with Latif’s 4 1 being the highest.
MVP Mark Harold 4-18, Wazim Hussain 1 for 30 and Narine Bailey 1 for 31, were the chief destroyers.
In the Masters division, Regal Masters made like work of Parika Defenders, beating them by 39 runs.
Regal piled a 223-3 total off their required 20 overs, thanks to Mahesh Chunilalls 113 N.O, M. Arjune 35, and R. Bakers 27 N.O while the defenders, D. Kannan & K. Persaud, each took a wicket.

In chase of the total, the Parika side faltered on 184-7-20 overs with O. Chandler (48), A. Ahmad (24) and D. Hanaman (52*) being the lead totals.
Satrohan Seeraj bagged 2-13.
In the women’s category, Trophy Stall Angels defeated Mike’s Wellwoman by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Wellwoman posted 79-2 from 10 overs with Zola Telford 26 N.O leading the charge.
However, the Trophy Stall Angels manged to overhaul that total, making 84-2 in 8.2 overs with MVP Roxanne DeMonick 39* & Kavita Yadram 24*.
Player of the series for Open category was Richard Latiff, while Rudolph Baker who scored 334 runs in the series won the award in the Masters category.
Matana Cambridge of 4R Lioness took the MVP of the series in the female category.
