THE Linden Amateur Basketball Association’s (LABA) Christmas year-end basketball championship bounces off on Saturday with a double-header at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court.A release from the LABA to the participating clubs informed that they are about to finalise plans with a beverage giant company for the Christmas tournament.
The opening games are on Saturday between Half Mile Bulls and Block 22 Flames at 19:00 hrs and the other game brings together Retrieve Raiders and Bankers Trust Falcons.
The round robin initial play will conclude with the best four clubs advancing to the semi-finals before the final.
The ten playing dates are December 5, 7, 11, 12, 16, 17, 19 and 29 when the semi-finals are to be played and the grand final on January 2, 2016.
The next playing day is Monday when the first game is between Block 22 Flames and Retrieve Raiders at 19:00 hrs and the second at 21:00 hrs when Amelia’s Ward Jets pit against Victory Valley Royals at 21:00 hrs.
LABA will unveil the full fixture of the championship tomorrow when representatives, captains and coaches for the six participating clubs Half-Mile Bulls, Retrieve Raiders, Block 22 Flames, Victory Valley Royals, Amelia’s Ward Jets and Bankers Trust Falcons attend a meeting at 17:30 hrs at the tournament venue, Mackenzie Sports Club.
