Jones fulfilled the request of basketball backboards, basketballs, cricket bats, cricket balls, lawn tennis racquets, and scrabble boards made by the head teacher Kenneth Williams.
Speaking after the handing over, Jones said, “The National Sport Commission is always looking to help those areas that do not have access to facilities and equipment like these students at Three Miles Secondary in Bartica.”
“We see it as part of our drive to revamp the sport sector and the only way we can do this is by ensuring that the relevant persons have the techniques,” continued Jones.
He noted that there are many more initiatives that the NSC is working on with the aim to having them completed before the end of 2015.
