BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Barbados Pride were 262 for two off 96 overs in their first innings at the close of play after they were sent in by Jamaica Scorpions on the opening day of the first-round WICB PCL first-class match at Kensington Oval, yesterday.The not-out batsmen were captain Kraigg Brathwaite on 111 and Shamarh Brooks, 49.
The 22-year-old Brathwaite’s 14th first-class century came in 297 minutes off 256 balls and included seven boundaries. He reached his half-century in 222 minutes off 176 deliveries with three fours.
Brathwaite was dropped on 31 at slip, by John Campbell, off left-arm spinner Nikita Miller with the score 95 for one in the 39th over.
Kyle Corbin, driving, was caught at mid-on by Marquino Mindley off Miller for 13
And Shai Hope, prodding, was caught at forward short-leg by Brandon King, diving low on the pitch, off off-spinner Campbell for 77.
Hope batted for 179 minutes, faced 157 balls and hit nine fours and three sixes. He reached his half-century in 116 minutes off 114 balls with six fours and two sixes.
In the other fixture of the day between T&T Red Forceand Leewards Hurricanes, Red Force were 157 for 3 at stumps on shortened first day.
