A chained and restrained Edward Simon was yesterday brought before city magistrate Ann McLennan after four months on the run, arraigned for the murder of Lionel Williams, which allegedly occurred at Tin Cup Backdam, Kanawaruk, North West District (NWD) on May 25 last.
It is alleged that the 45-year-old miner murdered the 35-year-old Williams after an argument had broken out between the two men while they were at a bar in the area. Simon allegedly armed himself with a knife and dealt Williams several stabs about his body.
Simon was remanded to prison until November 03, and his matter was transferred before the Mathews Ridge Magistrate.
Police arrested Simon on Friday last and transported him to Georgetown to be arraigned for murder.
