Man accused of stealing from cousin’s house

COLIN Klass, who was accused of stealing from his cousin’s house, was yesterday released on $70,000 bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. Particulars of the charge stated that Klass on September 27-28 at South Ruimveldt stole from the dwelling house of Althea Squire five pairs of sneakers, an electronic curling iron, one chair, five pairs of sandals, property of Squire, and a digital camera, property of Wallace McKay, all valued at $191,000.
When the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) was applied, the defendant denied the charge. Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones did not relate the facts to the court but disclosed that both parties reside at the same house and requested that Klass be released on substantial bail.
Klass was released on bail and bonded to remain on good behaviour. The matter was adjourned until October 19 for statements.
