ACTING Chief Justice Mr. Ian Chang, S. C., last Friday granted 13 remand prisoners bail totalling $6,415,000, pending the hearing of their cases.One of them, Juliano Seunarine, who was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, was allowed bail in the sum of $400,000 on condition that he surrenders his passport and reports to the Brickdam Police Station, Traffic Department, every Monday at 10.00 hrs, except on court days. He is also blacklisted until the determination of the charge.
.Following is a list of the other offences, the accused, and the amount of bail granted to each one.
Trafficking in narcotics: Junior Cummings – $1,000,000; Monique Samuels – $1,500,000; Andre Pilgrim – $1,500,000;
Possession of arms and ammunition: Kevin Josiah – $75,000; G. Thomas – $840,000;
Attempted murder: Francis Bernard – $300,000;
Wounding with intent: Philbert Mc Pherson – $200,000;
Unlawful wounding: Samuel Simpson – $35,000; Mahesh Persaud $40,000;
Sexual activity with child family member – Motielall Deonarine – $350,000;
Assault – Ulric Gittens – $25,000;
Attempt to commit a felony: Ramdeo Ross – $150,000.
