The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) yesterday became the first sports organisation to send a congratulatory message to the recently installed APNU+AFC government.In a release, the BCB congratulated President David Granger and Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo and also thanked the former government for “all the support that was given to the board over the years and is confident that the relationship with the new government will be no different”.
According to the BCB “cricket is our number one sport and it is the single largest unifying force for our country and we all must recognise the importance of this game.
Is it a noble game that crosses all races and religions, and we hope that the newly elected government will quickly help to remove all the controversies that exist in our cricket today. We must all recognise the task ahead and it can only be achieved if all of us put our shoulders to the wheel”.
