ENTRUSTED with a quantity of clothing to sell, vendor Kimmy Hendricks allegedly ended up converting same to her own use and benefit, a city court heard yesterday. The charge against Hendricks, 40, is that on February 17 at Georgetown, being entrusted by Denise Hillman with a quantity of male and female clothing totalling $247,000, she fraudulently converted the articles to her own use and benefit.
The defendant, however, denied the charge against her.
There were no facts read in court by the prosecution, nor was there any objection to bail being granted.
Counsel for Hendricks, Mr. Paul Fung-a-fat, told the court that his client is a mother of two who resides at Lot 223 Lamaha Squatting Area.
The lawyer explained that his client was given the clothes by Mrs. Hillman to sell, but she could not have gotten all off her hand, thus the remainder of the items is lodged at her home.
The vendor was granted bail in the sum of $40,000, and the matter was transferred before City Magistrate Alex Moore for March 30.
