Police Traffic Department sources confirmed that the man could not have been charged yesterday since the body of the woman who was killed in the accident, Yvette Stoll-Joseph of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, was identified very late on Tuesday evening by her relatives.

The late identification of the woman caused the police not to be able to prepare the required documentation to facilitate the post-mortem in time for Wednesday morning. The examination will be done this morning.
The Guyana Chronicle was told that up to late Tuesday no one else from the accident was considered to be in a critical condition but from all indications the driver of the vehicle is expected to be charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Meanwhile, this publication visited the driver’s community on Tuesday and persons commented on the manner in which he and others from Agricola usually use the roadways. One woman said that she would usually boycott any transportation being piloted by this driver as well as others who show a disregard for the lives of other road users, even their own passengers.
The Chronicle was also told that all of David’s documents for driving are in order.
The police have confirmed that they are investigating the accident in which Lynette Joseph, a security guard of National Hardware died on her way to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre. Seven others were injured after the driver of a Route 42 minibus, BSS 9471, travelling to Georgetown lost control and smashed into a utility pole at Little Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara at about 17:45hrs Tuesday.

On Tuesday evening when this publication arrived on the scene we were told that the minibus was heading to Georgetown from farther up the East Bank when the driver lost control. Persons who were travelling in the vehicle reported that they had cautioned the driver about his speeding but he ignored them and continued without letup.
