–to help clear vegetation

MINISTER of Regional Development and Local Government, Mr. Norman Whittaker has handed over five new Stihl FS 160 brush cutters to the five Neighbourhood Democratic Councils (NDCs) in Region 2 to help the councils provide a better service to residents in terms of clearing vegetation.The Minister said the brush cutters that were purchased by Government through the Ministry of Regional Development and Local Government at a cost of some $500,000 will help the five NDCs: Good Hope Pomona, Annandale-Riverstown, Aberdeen-Zorg-en- Vlugt, Evergreen-Paradise and Charity- Urasara to provide improved services to residents in the various communities.
Minister Whittaker also announced that shortly some of the NDCs on the Essequibo Coast will be provided with tractors and trailers to boost the cleanup campaign in the Region.
