Courts re-opens for business
-damaged items removed from showroom
FOLLOWING the one-day set back of Courts (Guyana) Main Street operations on Wednesday due to flooding, the store re-opened its doors yesterday with brand new items on display.

All the damaged items have been moved to another section of the store awaiting its removal from the location. That is according to the company’s Director of Marketing, Ms. Molly Hassan, a claim which was confirmed by this newspaper.
The insurance company, which Courts is not willing to name, has completed the random checks and assessments of the damage to facilitate the clearing of the store on Wednesday night.
Yesterday workers were busy off loading brand new items from delivery trucks which rolled up at the location with items from the company’s storage bond at Montrose on the East Coast of Demerara. The first truck arrived just after 09:00 hrs with music systems and other appliances for the store.
The store appeared as if nothing was wrong with it from the previous day and appeared as if the business was just opening its doors after the previous day’s operation.
According to Hassan, the company had an opportunity to bounce back quickly and the cleanup exercise lasted throughout Wednesday night and into the wee hours of yesterday morning. The cleaning was spearheaded by the General Manager of the Main Street store.
Courts Guyana Inc in its effort to get the store back up and running in record time and in their effort to ensure the safety of customer and employees, employed a specialised cleaning company which sanitized the entire building on Wednesday night.
Asked about the fate of the damage, the senior company manager pointed out that they may likely be part of a yard sale but that is dependent on what the insurance company decides following their assessment.
Courts Guyana is reminding that all its Christmas promotions and activities are still on as schedule.
