THE Women’s Progressive Organisation (WPO) has planned a series of commemorative activities starting from today until the end of the month to celebrate the life of Mrs Janet Jagan, the late President of Guyana, Founding Member of the People’s Progressive Party and late President of the Women’s Progressive Organisation.

The first event will be held today from 17:00 hrs at the Umana Yana under the auspices of the Central Georgetown WPO group.
The evening of reflection will include songs, poetry, skits, and reflections by a number of leading comrades of the Party and its arms. These include President Donald Ramotar, PPP General Secretary Mr. Clement Rohee, WPO President Mrs Indranie Chandarpal, WPO General Secretary Ms Sheila Verasammy, representatives from the PYO and GAWU, among others.
On Tuesday October 22 there will be an evening of reflection at the State House at Anna Regina, Essequibo. Speakers will include President of the WPO Indranie Chandarpal and other party and WPO leaders.
