ONE of the most anticipated events in Guyanese entertainment is set to finally come off as ‘King of R&B’ American singer-songwriter and record producer, R. Kelly, is expected to touch down at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) airport today.

Touted as ‘Night of Legends’, the concert slated for the National Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) indeed appears promising. Along with the Grammy Award winning headline act, patrons will see some of the most remarkable talents in the R&B, Reggae, Soca and Chutney genres all packed in one concert for one memorable experience.
Other hot acts include Jamaican Reggae Group Morgan Heritage, Trinidadian Chutney Singer KI, Kes the Band and Karma also out of Trinidad.
Even those who have been casually following the news would know that the mega-star was originally slated to headline the Jamzone International line up last August 24, 2013 but reportedly fell ill following a recent tour of South Africa.
Thus the new date for the show was set for October 19.
At a press conference last Wednesday, a logistics crew, who preceded the star, addressed the local media and assured that the artiste will indeed be arriving for Saturdays night’s performance. Organisers said the public response to the singer coming has been ‘overwhelming’.
