According to a statement from the PNCR, Ms. Ally, who was involved in a planned party exercise, interacted with residents of Region No. 2 while she was visiting the Anna Regina market.
The PNCR claimed that “residents of that town who are supporters of the PPP/C administration complained of the mismanagement of the arbitrarily installed Interim Management Committee (IMC) and the Regional Democratic Council (RDC)”.
“They claim that the IMC and RDC do not seem to know what they are doing,” the PNCR stated.
According to that party, they took Ms. Ally to a dump site of garbage, showed her the poor drainage conditions in the town and informed her about the discriminatory practices of the town council.
Vendors claimed that they were removed from the market site in order to accommodate a known PPP supporter who was using an area which should be used for proper drainage, but is now utilised for the establishment of a private business. They are upset with the present state of their town and their region.
“The people of Region No. 2 are calling on the PPP/C administration to provide improved facilities at the market; to remove the garbage on a daily basis; to provide proper drainage for them and to stop all discriminatory practices in the region,” the PNCR stated.
