Grammy Award winner and ‘King of R& B’ R. Kelly says to “Expect the unexpected” when in only a few hours time, the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, East Bank Demerara will overflow with excited persons wanting to experience his music live and in person .

Organizers had earlier said that the public response to Kelly coming to Guyana has been ‘overwhelming’, but as could be expected, there were still a few Doubting Thomas’, after the previous ‘Night of Legends’ disappointment in August.
So imagine the excitement as it was broadcast on television, radio, BBM, social networks and other sources that the singer arrived at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport yesterday afternoon at 15:00hrs.
Even those who have been casually following the news would know that the mega-star was originally slated to headline the Jamzone International line up last August 24, 2013 at the ‘Night of Legends’ concert, but reportedly fell ill following a recent tour of South Africa.
Thus the new date for the show was set for October 19.
Now dubbed “Redemption”, the concert is promising. Along with the Grammy Award winning headline act, patrons will see some of the most remarkable talents in the R&B, Reggae, Soca and Chutney genres all packed in one concert for one memorable experience.

Kelly was a class act, skillfully fielding even the ‘delicate’ questions the media persons who clamored for his attention threw at him. For example, when asked what inspired his work which was about “food and sex’, Kelly managed to keep a straight face and spoke of his love for women.
The real Kelly fans will know that the upcoming twelfth solo studio album by the singer will be released on November 11, 2013, via RCA and is titled ‘Black Panties’. Asked why he selected such a name the singer, explained to the laughter of all those present that he is accustomed to being pelted with panties by his female fans but at one event a pair of medium black panties landed on his wrist and he took it as a sign and decided to write a song, which would later grow into a whole album.
Supporting acts Karma, who was represented by member Ravi B. at the conference, and Kes lead singer of the band Kes the Band will definitely be inspired to compete and both bands promise to bring the energy of the carnival vibe to their performances.
Those who already have their general admission tickets are fortunate since new prices have been regulated and will now cost $5000, and the VIP which previously cost $20,000, will now be increased to $25,000. Tickets purchased for the August 24 Jamzone Super Concert are still valid.
