GDF checking for missing ammo, any SOPs breaches at Tacama school

THE Guyana Defence Force (GDF) yesterday said that its investigators are currently checking for ten 7.62 x 39mm rounds that went missing from the Guard Room of the Colonel John Clarke Military School at Tacama, Upper Berbice River.

In a press statement, the GDF also said that a separate Board of Inquiry has been established to report on any breaches of the Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the handling and accounting for ammunition at that training location.
However, since the discovery that the ammunition was missing, the GDF has conducted checks that have accounted for all other ammunition held at the Colonel John Clarke Military Training School, Tacama.
Efforts yesterday by the Guyana Chronicle to get the names of the persons who will head the two Boards of Inquiry and their membership were unsuccessful.
