POLICE report that Brazilians Taigo Nunes Pinto, Ronaldo Da Silva Sousa, Joao Nelson Pinto Mands and Joao Gonsalves Martins, whose addresses are unknown, were mining at Arau Backdam, Eteringbang, when, at about 17:55 hrs on Thursday, the pit, some 30 to 40 feet deep, caved in and covered them.

 
Their bodies are at the Lyken Funeral Parlour in Georgetown awaiting post-mortem examinations.
