Man remanded on threatening girlfriend charge

A MAN accused of making threats to kill his girlfriend was remanded to prison yesterday after he is alleged to have given different addresses.

Before Magistrate Ann McLennan, Roshanan Shallow, 44, said he lives at Lot 266 Prashad Nagar, Georgetown.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which it was committed on September 16 at Lot 95 Dennis Street, Campbellville, when he made use of threatening language to Tanika Joaquin.
Police Sergeant Dinero Jones, prosecuting, said the defendant and the virtual complainant share an intimate relationship but they do not live with each other.
That day, Joaquin, who resides at Lot 95 Dennis Street had been speaking with someone else and, as soon as she was alone, Shallow confronted her and threatened to kill her, the prosecutor said.
The woman made a report of the incident and Shallow was arrested and charged.
The prosecutor said Shallow gave a different address to the police on the day of the occurrence and offered another on his appearance in court.
The magistrate then refused Shallow pre-trial freedom and postponed the case to September 23.
