THE Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) has taken the opportunity to congratulate all the students who excelled at the 2013 CSEC and CAPE examinations.
The IAC, in a statement yesterday, said it is heartened at these sustained outstanding performances for it augurs well for the future of our nation.
“The IAC would also like to make special mention of Anna Regina Secondary School Student, Ms. Zimeena Rasheed, who has been declared the country’s top student with eighteen (18) grade ones and two (2) grade twos. This is indeed an outstanding achievement of which all Guyanese must feel proud,” the IAC stated.
In addition, Ms. Yogeeta Persaud of the same school, came in second with eighteen (18) grade ones. These successes serve as inspiration to others, here in Guyana and across the Region, who would be writing similar examinations in the future, the Committee said.
The IAC also recognised and commend the efforts of all the teachers who would have worked tirelessly in guiding the thousands of students across the country during their time in preparation for the examinations. “Special congratulations to the teachers of the Anna Regina Secondary School for producing the country’s top two students and many more within the top sixty-five,” the Committee said.
The IAC also congratulated Ms. Shalita Appadu, of President’s College, for topping the CAPE examinations with six (6) grade ones and one (1) grade two and all the others who would have attained five (5) grade ones.
The IAC believes these results, which continue to set the trend in the Region, are a clear indication that all Guyanese children are taking advantage of the easy access to education and the related opportunities now afforded to them. The IAC extends best wishes for their future endeavours.
