Decomposing baby found in Albouystown septic tank

THE decomposing remains of a baby were discovered in a septic tank yesterday in Victoria Street, Albouystown, Georgetown. The discovery was made after a dog was seen playing with a hand it had ripped from the corpse at Lot 133 Victoria Street.
A woman who lives in the house there told reporters that a stench had been emanating from somewhere in the vicinity since Monday but she was unsure of the source.
Opting to remain anonymous, she disclosed, however, that she burned some incense in an effort to stifle the foul smell but, on Tuesday night, some neighbours informed her that a new born infant was observed in her yard.
Then she became aware that an infant had been abandoned there and the police were summoned but, up to mid-morning yesterday, they had not visited the scene.
She admitted it is difficult to speculate from where the human remains came since there was heavy rainfall over the weekend and she did not know of any woman in the neighbourhood who was expecting a child.
Police yesterday arrested a woman, who is believed to have given birth to the baby which she allegedly abandoned in the septic tank.
The police also confirmed that the woman is the mother of several children and is from Albouystown and lives in close proximity to where the remains were found by residents.

DOG PLAYING
Meanwhile, another Albouystown resident, Nigel Willis said, yesterday, that he was at home when he saw a dog playing with something looking like a doll in his vibrant kitchen garden.
He said, on taking a closer look, he realised it was a hand with fingernails intact and fully formed belonging to a human baby.
Willis said he called over his neighbours, on Tuesday night and showed them what he had found.
He described the find as “bare wickedness” noting that the already fully formed baby was ripped apart and his dog took a piece into his yard.
Other residents also denounced the occurrence, pointing out that the human remains were still there.
The incident reminded of another in which a woman had abandoned a plastic bag containing a baby after disembarking a taxi and fleeing.
