SMYTHFIELD resident Budeshwar Palwari who told the court that he was just trying out two CDs that he had bought, admitted playing his stereo set in a loud and continuous manner, becoming a noise nuisance to his neighbour Nandkumar Boodhoo.
Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs Marcus, presiding in the New Amsterdam Court in Berbice, fined the 30-year-old defendant $10,000 and bonded him for six months.
The magistrate also informed the married father-of-two that should he be in default of the bond, he will have to serve a three-week imprisonment.
On May 26 last Palwari, a small machine operator, played his music set loudly and continuously although he was spoken to repeatedly by the complainant.
“The set is fifty-five amperes, and I was playing it lower. Anyway, I am sorry,” Palwari offered.
