THE Organisation of American States (OAS), through its Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), will organise, from today to next Tuesday, a workshop on the implementation of drug treatment courts at the headquarters of the hemispheric Organisation in Washington, DC.

The workshop will bring together judges, attorneys general, defence lawyers, treatment providers, probation officers and other professionals from the member states to take part in discussion sessions, theoretical and practical training, and a visit to a drug court.
The participants in the workshop from Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, The Dominican Republic, Panama, and Colombia will also be able to exchange experiences with their counterparts in the United States, thanks to a strategic alliance with the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP).
