A probe is underway following the Sunday night murder/robbery of a 32-year-old man of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara. Crime Chief Seelall Persaud said that no arrests have been made so far.
Police said at about 21:25hrs on Sunday, Tyrone Boodhoo, 32, of Better Hope, ECD, and a female friend Martha Mohamed, 23, were at the seawall in the vicinity of Vryheid’s Lust, ECD, when they were confronted by two men who ordered them to lie on the ground.
At this stage Boodhoo attempted to escape and was shot by one of the men. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The perpetrators took away a cell phone from Martha Mohamed and escaped.
