AN INDUSTRIAL relations officer, who verbally abused his reputed wife because they were not on speaking terms, was bonded by Magistrate Ann McLennan on Thursday.

Thirty-year-old Jermaine Hermanstine, of Lot 167 Charlotte Street, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the offence which alleged that, on July 2, at Brickdam Police Station, he made use of abusive language to Alexis Arthur, the mother of his child.
Police Corporal Bharat Mangru, prosecuting, told the court that although the parties are parents of the same child, they do not speak to each other.
The prosecutor said, however, that the issue would be resolved if the defendant was placed on a bond since the two persons do not live together.
Consequently, Hermanstine was placed on probation to be of good behaviour and the case was adjourned to July 15.
