SPR Enterprises at 45 Brickdam, Stabroek, has announced that it will be launching the Smart Cool’s EC03 System in the Guyana market during the staging of the fourth International Building Expo from July 5-7, which is billed for the National Stadium at Providence, East Bank Demerara.
SPR said in a press statement yesterday that the company is aware that Guyana has committed to a Low Carbon Development Strategy, and, therefore, Smartcool’s ECO3 offers an economical and effective tool that can help meet these targets, reducing overall electricity consumption demand on the grid and greenhouse gas emissions.
“Smartcool’s ECO3 saves an average 20% kWh on compressor operation in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. For customers with high electrical rates and high demand for cooling, this can represent a substantial reduction to their utility bills,” the release said.
“Guyana is subject to high electrical rates, in the range of $0.27/kWh for residential and $0.35/kWh for commercial customers. With a hot Caribbean climate, the demand for air conditioning is also very high,” it continued.
It said these factors make Guyana a natural fit for Smartcool’s ECO3, and SPR Enterprises is poised to deliver the product to a market primed for energy efficiency products.
According to the release, Smartcool’s engineer will be in Guyana from July 2-8 to train SPR staff and install the unit for the first batch of customers, as already several companies have given their final approval for installing the ECO3 on their air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Customers will be given a full demonstration at the Building Expo, using two AC units with one using the Smartcool ECO3 units and the other without.
In May 2013, SPR Enterprises finalised a new distribution agreement with Smartcool Systems Inc. for its other energy efficiency retrofit products throughout Guyana, making the company the newest company to join Smartcool’s growing network of independent distribution partners. SPR also has an exclusive distribution agreement with Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.
SPR Enterprises, which specializes in quality electrical products, was established in Guyana in 2007. At that time the company’s product line was four items – Panels, Breakers, Switch and Outlet, but today they have a product line of over 1,000 different items to satisfy domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
