GPL working to restore stable power supply on Essequibo Coast – Regional Chairman

THE Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) is working to restore a stable electricity supply to the Essequibo Coast.

Regional Chairman Mr. Parmanand Persaud said recently, that the Essequibo Coast is suffering from periodic blackouts because of difficulties with an automatic voltage control at the GPL power station at Anna Regina.
According to Persaud, the power company is currently using a manual control system and there are some problems with the north/south feeder. However, GPL  is working to have the problems sorted out quickly so that stable power can be restored to the entire coast.
