Guyana police in cross-border cooperation talks with Bon Fin delegation

THE Mayor of Bon Fin, in the State of Roraima, Brazil held a meeting with the Officer-in-Charge of Lethem Police Station as well as stakeholders on February 15, 2013 to forge closer cross-border cooperation between the two neighbouring states.

At the meeting were Officer-in-Charge of Lethem Police Station, the Regional Chairman and officials of the Regional Administration in Region 9 (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo) along with other public and private sector officials. They held a meeting with a delegation headed by the Mayor of Bon Fin at the Savannah Inn boardroom in Lethem.
At the meeting, issues which fall under the purview of the Guyana Police Force  were discussed, including  the improvement of the relationship between members of the GPF and their counterparts in the State of Roraima and  the intensification of action to address contraband trafficking.
