A BUSINESSMAN was shot and injured when a group of men attacked him at his shop yesterday during a foiled robbery.

Pritipaul Dhanpaul was shot to his right shoulder by two of five men, who held him up at about 11:15nrs at his shop at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara.

Police said that five men, two of whom were armed with handguns, entered and held him up, but Dhanpaul resisted and  was shot to his right shoulder, The men then escaped in a waiting motor vehicle. Dhanpaul has been admitted to hospital.
Investigations are in progress.
