THE new St. Anthony Catholic Church, on First Avenue, Bartica, has been taking shape to its designed architecture and the upgrade process would see a commissioning ceremony shortly.
The parish priest, Father Malcolm Rodrigues told the Guyana Chronicle that the works are on stream.
He said the contractor had built the outer walls and is presently working on the roof, after which the interior would be done.
The reconstruction began in February after Barticians commenced a massive fund-raising for the purpose.
Prominent businessman Chunilall Babulall was among the many donors to the project that also saw contributions from international agencies.
More donations are being sought for completion of the rebuilding.
