POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of pensioner, Goberdhan Sukram, 71, of Miss Phoebe, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice, whose body was found in his home at about 17:30 hrs yesterday  with suspected wounds to the head.

He lived alone and the house was ransacked, the police said in a press release.
In the meantime, the police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem.
Meanwhile, police are hunting for the suspect who fatally stabbed a 17-year-old Brazilian when he intervened in a quarrel at Tabatinga, Lethem on Sunday.
Police reported that at about 02:00 hrs on Sunday, Billy Nascimento Da Silva, 17, of Bon Fin, Brazil, intervened in an argument among three men at Tabatinga, Lethem, during which he was fatally stabbed to his chest.
No arrest has been made as yet but investigations are continuing.
