AN unbeaten record by Mackenzie High School was maintained last Saturday when play continued in the Scotiabank/Pepsi Schools Football Academy (SPSFA) Linden leg of the national competition at the Wisburg Secondary School ground. In the lone match of the day MHS scored a solid 3-1 win over their opponents and hosts Wisburg Secondary School after an initial struggle. By virtue of the win MHS are at the top of the table with six points.
However, after the Mackenzie High School cracked the Wisburg Secondary back line when Anthony Allicock moved inside and unleashed a shot in the 25th minute, the scores remained 0-0, as the ball crashed on to the crossbar and the first half ended scoreless.
However, this pattern of play changed in the second half and Mackenzie High opened their scoring through Jesse Marshall in the 42nd minute for a 1-0 lead, and in the 64th minute Randy Hohenkirk doubled the scores for MHS when he hit in the second goal. MHS lead was reduced when Kelvin Neblett scored for Wisburg Secondary in the 66th minute.
But Shaquille Campbell sealed the win for MHS with another goal in the 70th minute.
