A 21-year-old employee of the Guyana Power and Light was killed on Sunday after falling from a utility pole at Richmond village on the Essequibo Coast.

According to reports, Parmanand Ramroop, of Danielstown, was connecting wires on a utility pole when he fell some 20 feet to the ground.
He was picked up in a lifeless condition and rushed to the Suddie Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Police are investigating.
