RANKS of the Guyana Police Force, on Friday last,  conducted a drug eradication exercise at Old England, Upper Demerara River, where a field of cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants about half an acre in size was found. About 5,000 marijuana plants, ranging in height between one foot and four feet, along with an abandoned camp were destroyed. No one has been arrested in connection with the eradication exercise.
Meanwhile, the Guyana Police Force has also reported that during searches conducted, also on Friday last, in the Stabroek Market, Bourda Market, Water Street and the Vendors’ Arcade areas, three men were caught selling pornographic videos.
189 pornographic video recordings have been seized by the police and the three men were arrested.
