A ONE-YEAR-OLD baby was, up to press time last night, in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, after being severely burnt, the hospital said in a statement. The GPHC, which is the nation’s largest provider of health services, reported that, around 17:00 hrs (5 pm) yesterday, “a one year old baby of African descent was brought to the Accident and Emergency Unit with burns about the entire body.”
The baby has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in a critical condition.
Meanwhile, the GPHC also reported that, around 17:50 hrs (5:50 pm), a 43-year-old male of Indian descent was taken to the health institution with gunshot wounds to the chest. He is reported to be in stable condition and is being monitored.
