Charity Hospital saves labaria bitten teenager

QUICK action by doctors and nurses at Charity Hospital on the Essequibo Coast, recently, resulted in saving the life of a teenage boy who was bitten by a dangerous labaria snake.

Reports said the lad, Francis (only name given) was walking along a bushy trail towards his parents farm at Akawini, Lower Pomeroon, when the reptile bit him on one arm.
He was rushed to the health institution in a serious condition but escaped death after efficient medical treatment there.
