Gospel in concert… Yog Mahadeo promises to ‘do it again’ next January

FOLLOWING last year’s first gospel concert with international gospel artist Donnie Mc Clurkin, Inspire Inc. has made a commitment to the Guyanese religious public to do it again bigger in January of 2013.

altConsequently, 10-time Grammy Award winner Cece Winans arrived in Guyana for the mega gospel concert at the Guyana National Stadium last Saturday.
At a live press conference held at the National Communications Network (NCN) studio, Inspire Inc. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Yog Mahadeo indicated that his promise to the nation on a different platform has been delivered.
Speaking live on national television, he indicated that the presence of 10-time Grammmy winner Cece Winans is a blessing to Guyana and to the nation as a whole.
He noted that, come next year, this concert in January 2013 will be a signature event to the religious community, and “we will do it again!”
He extended a special welcome to Guyana to Cece Winans on behalf of the people of Guyana, the Christian pastors and the Christian community.

Reverend Simon Harris, who echoed similar sentiments in his brief remarks, outlined the format of the concert, which will see a worship feature similar to the one held with Reverend Donnie Mc Clurkin, and urged the public to be on time to participate in every aspect of this concert.
Pastor Adrian Lall, who gave an overview of the local component of the concert, expressed his anxiety for the commencement of the concert, saying that the local artistes were all eager to hit the big stage.

He noted that the locals had practised well for this concert, and were awaiting concert time to thrill the fans.
In her address to the nation via television, Ms Cece Winans expressed her gratitude to be back in Guyana, and said she has seen a major transformation in the country since she last visited here 26 years ago.
Strange to many, she spoke of her invitation to Guyana’s second gospel festival, the first in which Donnie Mc Clurkin performed.
She told the nation and media that it was Mc Clurkin who had encouraged her to visit Guyana, since he was here last January for the first Gospel festival and had promised to have Cece Winans come visit Guyana.

Speaking of her joy in the Lord, she indicated that this concert is being held at a fitting time, at the commencement of the year, and she told those listening: “When you give God the beginning, He will bless the rest.”
She spoke of her songs, and the way she would use them to minister to the Guyanese patrons at the concert.
This concert has seen sponsorship from Princess Hotel, Caribbean Airlines, Star Party Rentals, NCN, and HJTV, among others.
