SANTA and his helpers distributed more than 500 gifts, cakes, sweets, and drinks to children of the community surrounding the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation when the Timehri Airport hosted a ‘Night of Caroling and Santa parade’ last Wednesday.
According to Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ramesh Ghir, the event was just one of the many activities planned by the Agency for the Christmas holidays to “spread joy, cheer, and goodwill.”

Furthermore, it is an extension of the Airport’s corporate responsibility of giving back to the community which, over the years, has seen mutual and beneficial collaboration.
Activities which have fostered this relationship include Mashramani parades; the construction of desks and benches and security huts; painting of pedestrian crossings, and class stage for schools in and around the Soesdyke/Timehri area.“CJIA remains committed to the enhancement and development of the community, and looks forward to many more such fruitful partnerships,” Ghir said in a statement.
The activity was made possible with support and sponsorship from Madewini Villas, Digicel, Candy Corner, Edward B. Beharry and Company, Oasis Café, Roti Hut, Banks DIH Limited, and the New Timehri Handling Services Limited.
“The honourable Minister of Transport and Hydraulics, Board of Directors, management and staff of CJIA extend a happy, peaceful, and blessed Christmas season to all and renew its commitment to serving you even better in 2013,” Ghir said in conclusion.
