The body of Ramsahoye, 38, of Annandale, East Coast Demerara, was found in his home on December 9 and investigations into his killing were continuing up to press time but no arrest was made.
The deceased, known as Vicky, was killed in his house early Sunday morning when he was preparing to open his grocery shop.
He had been cleaning his yard when he was stabbed several times on his chest.
Relatives said he was attacked and robbed of cash and jewellery and succumbed to the injuries he suffered in the process.
One of the dead man’s brothers, Tulsieram Ramsahoye called ‘Anno’, who lives a few houses away, stated that their mother saw his sibling’s shop still shut and they decided to telephone him but got no answer.
That caused the family to become very concerned as the shop owner’s wife is currently staying at her mother’s residence and is expecting their first child.
His other brothers went to the premises and found a door open and Ramsahoye lying in a pool of blood.
After they raised an alarm, more persons went to the scene and it was discovered that a bedroom was ransacked and bloody handprints were on various pieces of furniture, walls, the broken chest of drawers where the shopkeeper kept his money and the jewellery box, which was also empty.
One of the brothers said there was no evidence of forced entry into the place, leading to the suspicion that there was no break and enter.
