Parents accompanying CSEC top students to awards ceremony in Anguilla : …air fares provided by the government

PARENTS and guardians of the four Guyanese students topping the Regional list for Outstanding Performance at CSEC 2012, will be given an opportunity to join their loved ones in celebration, at the Regional Awards  Ceremony to be held in Anguilla on December 6 . altThis has been made possible through a gift of travel tickets to a representative of each of the four families, compliments of the Ministry of Education.
To this end, the ministry yesterday held a presentation ceremony at which the tickets were handed over by Deputy Permanent Secretary. (Administration), Ministry of Education, Ms. Geneveive Blackman.
In brief remarks, Permanent Secretary, Ms. Delma Nedd, noted that it was an auspicious occasion, as the Ministry of Education and the Government of Guyana has undertaken to finance the air fare of at least one person from the four families to accompany the students receiving the prestigious awards.
The representatives receiving tickets were:
* Pameshwar Babulall, who will be accompanying Sarah Hakh of Abram Zuil Secondary School, Winner of the Award for the Most Outstanding Candidate Oveall in the Region.
* Haywattie Narine, accompanying Deowattie Narine of Bishops’ High School – Most Outstanding Candidate in the Sciences
* Karran Singh, accompanying Rameshwar Singh of St. Rose’s High School – Most Outstanding Candidate in Technical Vocational Education.
* Kewlamati Bhim, accompanying Tamasha Maraj –Most outstanding Candidate in Business Education.
The Regional Top Awards Ceremony for Outstanding Performance CSEC 2012, is to be held at the Viceroy Anguilla, a luxury hotel in West End Anguilla, on December 6.  Those travelling for the function are expected to leave on December 3 and return on December 8, 2012.
