Give Surinam Airways opportunity to fly from Guyana to Canada & USA –stranded passengers

IN response to the United States and Canadian Departments of Transportation terminating EZjet’s services to Guyana, the Government of Guyana made a responsible move to embrace the services of the Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) in order to bring relief to thousands of passengers who had been stranded for the festive season.
An emerging trend points to airlines collapsing their operations mere months after commencing to serve the Guyana

market; and this unforeseen loss of money confuses passengers who had been booked to travel on those airlines.
The most recent airline to come on stream and then phase out is the EZjet, leaving several passengers stranded. This has given Caribbean and Delta Airlines opportunity to assist EZjet’s stranded passengers.
Speaking with some passengers, the general consensus is that the defaulted airlines have greatly inconvenienced them. Others, though, are of the opinion that government should offer Surinam Airways an opportunity to expand its routes from Guyana to Toronto and New York City.
Efforts to elicit comment from the local authorities proved futile.
