Mr. Lowe, in his usual ‘fanfare’ style, was quick to jump to the conclusion that EZJet will collapse, because of an ALLEGATION against its founder and former CEO, Sonny Ramdeo.
But less than 48 hours later, the propaganda machinery of the Kaieteur News, owned by a very sketchy character in the business community, kicks in and begins levelling all sorts of distortions and lies to discredit the airline and its operations.
On Sunday again the same newspaper used very old public information about the airline cancelling a particular flight between Georgetown and New York for the next several months, in order to accommodate its recently launched Toronto route.
The dirty tricks of the newspaper was to ignore the fact that this was done to accommodate that new route, and the fact that the carrier runs a chartered operation, Kaieteur News jumps to suggest this was a result of the allegations against Mr. Ramdeo.
Whether Mr Ramdeo is guilty or innocent, will play itself out; but to suggest that the airline will collapse and drive fear into Guyanese travellers is wicked, unprofessional and mischievous.
This act goes below the lowest possible journalistic standards, and must be seen as another witch hunt by Glenn Lall and his questionable cohorts, near and far.
The airline clearly pointed out that KN did not contact its management, which clearly shows that the newspaper has no regard for “verifying information” – a key principle in journalism. Matter of fact, Lall himself confessed on national TV that he just publishes anything given to him, whether it’s true or false.
KN’s actions are clear indication of Lall’s “crab in a barrel” mentality, and his desperation not to see others progress.
He seems to have the same agenda as some politicians and his friend Lowe, to keep Guyana at the bottom.
Guyanese must not forget that EZJet’s entrance to the market has forced other airlines to improve their services and drop their fares. Isn’t this a plus for travellers?
The only conclusion I can draw is that both KN and Lowe are bent on taunting the credibility of EZJet.
My brothers and sisters don’t be fooled by the antics of these two questionable characters.
EZJet I am sure is here to stay, and brings with it many benefits for Guyanese and other visitors.
