THE Roger Harper-steward Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) has released its fixtures for cricketing action this weekend, including the highly anticipated GCA/Queensway Open Cup first division final between arch rivals Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC). This contest will take place at the Lance Gibbs Street-based venue of DCC this Sunday commencing at 09:30hrs, under the guidance of umpires in Nigel Duguid and Shannon Crawford, with Cyril Garnath being named as the standby official.
In the GCA/Noble House Seafoods two-day second division competition, one match will be contested in Zone ‘A’, with Vikings taking on Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) at the YMCA ground, under the supervision of Linden Matthews and Heuvel Cunha.
Three contests will be held. within Zone ‘B’ and these are with umpires in brackets, DCC versus Gandhi Youth Organisation at GYO (Matthew Kissoon and Andrew Allen), Guyana Defence Force against University of Guyana at UG (Clyde Layne and Randolph Rose) and Muslim Youth Organisation taking on GCC at MYO (Montgomery Chester and Ryan Banwarie).
