Saturday’s action will pedal off at 09:00hrs and the itinerary for the day’s events are as follows:
Junior/Juvenile 20 laps – first 3 places (lucrative cash prizes)
Veterans (Under 50 years) 6 laps – first 3 places (lucrative cash prizes)
Veterans (Over 50 years) 6 laps – first 3 places (lucrative cash prizes)
Mountain Bikes (Open) 6 laps – first 3 places (lucrative cash prizes)
Team Time Trials 3 laps – first 3 places (lucrative cash prizes)
BMX 6-11 years 1 lap – first 3 places (lucrative cash prizes)
BMX 12-14yrs 2 laps – first 3 places (lucrative cash prizes)
Seniors (Category 1-4) – 25 laps – first 6 places (lucrative cash prizes
Sunday’s action will pedal off with a one-lap Breast Cancer Awareness ride which caters for all persons with bicycles. They are being encouraged by Digicel’s Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James, to not only show their support to the cause, but remind those individuals who are fighting the dreaded disease, that hope is still around the corner.
Caribbean Junior champion Paul De Nobrega along with Caribbean Juvenile champion Michael Anthony, Alonzo Greaves, Enzo Matthews, Marlon ‘Fishy’ Williams, Junior Niles, Walter Grant-Stuart and other top cyclists will be involved in the one-lap event, before they do battle in the 25-lap race.
This race is a lucrative one, as the first six finishers will receive cash prizes with the top three finishers receiving trophies and the overall winner, a Digicel Breast Cancer Awareness jersey.
The top three junior and veteran cyclists will also receive cash prizes and trophies, the top two female cyclists will also receive cash prizes and in addition to the abovementioned prizes, each lap in the race carries a sprint prize of $1 000 while the winners in laps 5, 10, 15 and 20 will receive one cell phone each, compliments of Digicel.
