KHEM Beckles of Lot 128 ‘C’ Field, Sophia, was yesterday not required to plead to an indictable charge that, on August 27, he robbed Gaitri Ramdial of one gold chain valued $80,000; and at the time of the robbery, he made use of personal violence on Ramdial.
When Beckles appeared before Georgetown Magistrate, Hazel Octive-Hamilton,    Police Corporal Shevon Jupiter, prosecuting, objected to bail based on the seriousness of the offence, and the fact that the virtual complainant had also been injured during the attack.
The magistrate overruled the prosecutor’s objection, and granted the accused $80,000 bail. The matter will be called again on October 4.
