Group formed to develop Charity for township

SEVERAL businessmen at Charity have formed a group to help develop the area which is earmarked for township status. The Chairman is Mr. Dilip Singh, who said they will be working closely with the Regional Administration of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) and the Charity/Urasara Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) to also keep the community clean.
Singh said their focus is to clear garbage from road shoulders and drains and get the area, which is a port of entry, as well, clean and healthy.
Vice-Chairman, Mr. Ryan Vansluytman and the Secretary is Ms. Neelav Singh.
Together with the NDC, they are expected to put strong measures in place to combat dumping.
The local authority has a disposal system but vendors at the usually busy Monday market are guilty of littering.
Charity has hotels, bars, restaurants, a supermarket, shopping mall, fuel stations, Police Station, Public Hospital, Magistrate’s Court and secondary schools.
