Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam neighbours bonded over abuse

NEIGHBOURS Lilowatie Persaud and Christina John, both of Angoy’s Avenue, were each placed on a bond to keep the peace for six months, after they pleaded guilty to separate charges of using abusive language. Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo, before whom they appeared in court, also in New Amsterdam, Berbice, warned them that, should they breach the pact, they will be imprisoned for seven days.
Police Corporal Racquel Mars, prosecuting, said the women were, constantly, abusing one another and, on July 15 last, the abuse escalated resulting in them making reports.
The probationers expressed regret over the incident and said there will not be a recurrence.
