Granger reiterates APNU’s four-point plan for Linden

CHAIRMAN of A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), Brigadier David Granger, has renewed the call for a solution to the economic crisis in the Upper Demerara-Berbice Region. Speaking at a public meeting at ‘four-corners’ in the Wismar community on Saturday night, Granger repeated his four-point plan to deal with the issue of the electricity tariff hike.
According to a statement yesterday from his Office, he called on President Donald Ramotar to:

**   meet right away with the Regional Democratic Council and other stakeholders of Linden;
**   to commit resources to implement a serious economic recovery programme;
**   to introduce a menu of measures to address the environmental, broadcasting, health and other problems in Region 10;
**   to cancel any increase to the electricity tariff in Linden.

Brigadier Granger also reportedly called on the PPP/C administration to acknowledge that there is an economic crisis in the region.
He emphasised that A Partnership for National Unity will continue to show solidarity with Lindeners and will demand that  central government not proceed with the hike in electricity rates.
