LASSEL Duke, of Lot 59 Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown, was remanded to prison yesterday, on two charges of robbery under arms. Before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, he was charged, indictably, with having:
* on June 29, being armed with a gun, robbed Justin Frank of two cell phones and other items valued a total of $180,000 and
* the same day, being armed with a gun, robbed Devon Smith of $20,000 and one cell phone, making his total loss $65,000.
Police Sergeant Tracymay Gittens, prosecuting, who successfully objected to bail for the accused, informed the court that he has several other cases, of a similar nature, pending.
The court was told that a friend of the accused returned two cell phones to Smith in order to have Duke
released from police custody.
But Duke will have to remain incarcerated until July 24.
