The President is right

I FELT very happy reading (yesterday’s) newspapers. Happier, that President Donald Ramotar, is holding together his head, on his big, wide shoulders.
Suffice it to say; working quietly in the background, with his legal eagles, and his cabinet, to figure a way out of this muddle that Guyana has, unfortunately, found herself in.

I am pleased that President Ramotar, is about to teach the combined opposition, the difference[s] between being President of a country; and those who play the role of Opposition Leader[s]. This country is caught up in something, never seen in this part of the world for decades.
Furthermore, there is no way that the PNC’s Forbes Burnham, Hamilton Green, and the others, would have accepted any of this new dispensation. He would never accept, nor give any opposition, a second thought, and we all know that is the truth.
As for the $21B, that the APNU and AFC ‘snatched’ out of the hands of this government, via their budget cuts, I have no qualms in saying that if the shoe was on the PNC’s foot, the city of Georgetown would have been alight, an inferno, and such things as goods and services, and any other thing that would have stopped the PPP/C in their tracks, would have come to a complete halt, notwithstanding, of course, the serious possibility of innocent people being beaten in the streets; or losing their lives.

And this is not exaggerated, not by a long shot. The PPP/C would not have gotten away, being a part of any ‘combined’ opposition, against the Burnham regime. Think about it. Of course the PPP/C was, is, and always will be the PNC’s [now APNU] nemesis.

Though some feel that racism does not exist, except perhaps during an election, many others think otherwise, because it would be somewhat difficult not to read between the many subtle lines.
The President is perfectly in order to resent or refuse to sign anything, which is government-related, and without any input from the Executive itself should not be placed on his desktop, for his ‘John Doe’.
The Opposition is simply, and totally, disrespecting this President to the max; and there is no justice in that. But even that shall soon pass.

It’s like they, APNU and AFC, are the executives, and so ‘Donald’, becomes their rubber stamp, and I, like many other Guyanese, take umbrage, to this continuous mistreatment of President Ramotar, and I will call it ‘opposition governance’.
The people of this country did not vote any member of the opposition as President, their constituents failed them, miserably, at the polls, save and except for the AFC winning a few seats, creating a combined majority with APNU, in Parliament still.
